Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 06/24/2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how KnowledgeBass ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you access or use knowledgebass.com and its associated services (collectively, the "Service").

This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Note: KnowledgeBass is currently in beta. As we continue to develop the Service, our data practices may evolve, and this Policy will be updated accordingly.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address, which must be verified before your account is fully activated. We may also collect a username, display name, or other profile details you choose to provide.
  • Communications: If you contact us (e.g., for support or bug reports), we collect the information you provide in that communication.
  • User Content: Any content you create, upload, or submit through the Service.

2.2 Information Collected Through Apple Music Integration

If you choose to connect your Apple Music account via Apple's MusicKit on the Web, we may receive and process certain information necessary to provide that functionality, which may include:

  • Authorization tokens that allow the Service to make requests to Apple Music on your behalf;
  • Limited account status information (e.g., whether you have an active Apple Music subscription, region/storefront);
  • Music library data, playlists, listening preferences, or playback information you choose to access or interact with through the Service, to the extent permitted by the authorization you grant.

We do not receive your Apple ID password or your full Apple account details. This data exchange is also governed by Apple's own privacy practices, which we do not control. We encourage you to review Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles your information.

You may revoke the Service's access to your Apple Music account at any time, either within the Service (where available) or through your Apple ID account settings, after which we will no longer be able to access your Apple Music data going forward.

2.3 Information from Third-Party Embedded Content

The Service displays embedded content from third-party platforms, such as YouTube and X.com. When you view or interact with this embedded content:

  • The third-party platform (e.g., YouTube/Google or X) may independently collect information about your device, browser, IP address, or interactions with the embedded content, in accordance with its own privacy policy;
  • We do not control, and are not responsible for, the data collection practices of these third-party platforms;
  • We encourage you to review the privacy policies of YouTube/Google and X to understand how they handle your information.

2.4 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • IP address, browser type and version, device type, and operating system;
  • Log data, such as access times, pages viewed, and actions taken within the Service;
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address;
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create, maintain, and secure your account, including verifying your email address;
  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service, including features powered by Apple MusicKit and embedded third-party content;
  • Authenticate and facilitate your connection to your Apple Music account and process related requests on your behalf;
  • Communicate with you, including sending account-related notices, security alerts, verification emails, and, where applicable, updates about the Service;
  • Diagnose and fix bugs, errors, and other issues — particularly relevant given the Service's current beta status;
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve functionality and user experience;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, email delivery (for account verification), analytics, and customer support, under obligations to protect your information.
  • Apple: To the extent necessary to facilitate MusicKit authorization and functionality, certain data is exchanged directly between your browser/device and Apple's services pursuant to the authorization you grant.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of KnowledgeBass, our users, or others.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
  • With Your Consent: For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or with your consent.

We do not control and are not responsible for the independent data collection and sharing practices of third-party platforms such as Apple, YouTube, or X, which occur under their own respective privacy policies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Given the Service's beta status, certain logs, diagnostic data, or backups may be retained for a limited time to help us identify and fix issues, even after account deletion.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in and maintain session state;
  • Remember your preferences and settings;
  • Understand how users interact with the Service so we can improve it.

Third-party embedded content (such as YouTube and X embeds) may also set their own cookies or use similar tracking technologies when displayed or interacted with, governed by those platforms' own cookie policies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Because the Service is currently in beta, we ask that you be mindful that security measures, infrastructure, and data handling practices are still being refined and tested. We encourage you not to store highly sensitive information within the Service beyond what is necessary, and to notify us promptly at info@knowledgebass.com if you become aware of any security vulnerability or unauthorized access to your account.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Request deletion of your personal information;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your information;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (such as your Apple Music connection, which you may revoke at any time);
  • Request a copy of your information in a portable format;
  • Lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@knowledgebass.com. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8.1 California Residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

8.2 European Economic Area, UK, and Swiss Residents

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR, including the rights listed above. Our legal bases for processing your information include performance of a contract (providing the Service to you), your consent (e.g., for Apple Music integration), and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at info@knowledgebass.com, and we will take steps to delete such information.

10. International Data Transfers

If you access the Service from outside of the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have data protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service contains embedded content and integrations with third-party platforms, including Apple Music (via MusicKit), YouTube, and X. This Policy does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies:

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly as the Service evolves out of beta. We will post the updated Policy on the Service and update the "Last Updated" date above. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice, such as via email to the address associated with your account. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
